ISI Mark

Indian Standards Institution Mark — BIS's product conformity mark for manufacturers who meet the relevant Indian Standard.

The ISI Mark (Indian Standards Institution Mark) is India's most recognised product quality certification symbol. It is issued by BIS to manufacturers whose products have been verified — through third-party lab testing and factory inspection — to conform to the relevant Indian Standard.

The mark consists of the letters "ISI" inside a wheel of spokes, accompanied by the IS number, your BIS licence number (CM/L-XXXXXXX), and the year of the standard. It is legally required for products covered under a mandatory Quality Control Order (QCO).

Only manufacturers with production facilities in India can hold an ISI Mark under Scheme I. Foreign manufacturers must obtain the same mark via the FMCS route (Scheme II). The mark is renewed annually.
