CRS Registration
Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) is mandatory for electronics and IT products sold in India. Registration is obtained through the BIS portal and is product-model specific.

The Compulsory Registration Scheme is a BIS programme requiring manufacturers and importers of electronics products to register each product model before sale in India. Unlike ISI Mark, CRS registration is done through a self-declaration model supported by BIS-authorised lab test reports.
CRS covers over 80 product categories under various Electronics and IT QCOs. Both domestic manufacturers and importers (for foreign-made products) must register.

How CRS registration works
Product and IS identification
We identify the applicable Indian Standard and QCO for your product model.
Lab testing
Samples are tested at a BIS-authorised lab. We coordinate submission and turnaround.
BIS portal application
We submit the registration application on the BIS Connect portal with test reports and product details.
Registration certificate
BIS issues a Registration Certificate for the model. You can then affix the R-CRS mark and sell in India.
