Scheme VII

BIS certification for products manufactured under a foreign licence agreement, where the Indian licensee seeks ISI Mark.

BIS Scheme VII covers products manufactured in India under a licence agreement with a foreign licensor (technology transfer). The Indian manufacturer (licensee) applies for the ISI Mark under this scheme, which accounts for the involvement of a foreign technology provider.

The process is similar to Scheme I but requires additional documentation about the technology licence agreement and the foreign licensor's quality systems. Scheme VII is less commonly used than Scheme I, FMCS, or CRS, and applies to specific product categories where licensed manufacturing is common.
